About

Hungry the Ate (28 June 1491 – 28 January 1547) was King of England from 21 April 1509 until his death. Wait no, let's try that again...

Hungry the Ate is a blog about food. Whether it be that new recipe we tried out, something bizarre we ate whilst on holidays, a visit to the local pub or dealing with the trauma of college hall food, if it's interesting and it's about food, we'll write about it.

We hope you enjoy reading this blog as much as we enjoy putting it together! Semper Eat'em!

YH hails from that beautiful sunny land far far away known as Australia. Born and raised in Sydney, he never fully appreciated the vibrant food scene there until making the move to Cambridge. Disappointed by what seemed to be a town overrun with generic chain-owned restaurants, pubs serving every possible variation of beige, and amazing ability of dining halls to invent new names for the same potato dish, he decided to get proactive about food.

When not getting Piled Higher and Deeper, he obsessively spends his time searching out good restaurants and trying some experimental cooking of his own.

PC immigrated to the UK from the high mountains of the land inhabited 5300 years ago by a man called Ötzi. Only slowly adapting to the endless British flatlands, he misses the third dimension and the fine mix of mediterranean and traditional alpine dishes of the South Tyrolian cuisine. Not fully satisfied with tuna-and-cucumber sandwich and crisps for lunch or food from Hall for dinner, he enjoys to try out new recipes from all over the world and once in a while just feels the need to have a good risotto or nice plate of pasta.

The Shok could not cook anything before joining SMBC. He now can make several dishes competently. He has undergone infinite improvement.
